PURCHASE, N.Y. – After a strong outing in her collegiate debut, Orquidea Briceno (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fort Hamilton) of the Manhattanville College women's cross-country team has earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week recognition.

This would be the first women's cross country individual award received by Manhattanville College in the program's existence.

Briceno began her collegiate career on Sep. 1 at the Stockton University Season Opener as she led the Valiants on the trail. She finished in 62^nd place with a time of 25:40.07.

Briceno and the Valiants will be back in action on Sep. 16 as they compete in the Jasper Fall XC Invite hosted by Manhattan College.
