NEW YORK, N.Y. – Following their leading seasons on the court for the Manhattanville women's basketball team,
Esther Ramos (Queens, N.Y./Forest Hills) and
Julie Debrocky (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) earned the first All-Conference accolades of their collegiate careers. Ramos was honored by the Skyline Conference on the First Team, while Debrocky represented the Valiants on the Second Team.
Ramos had by far her best season at Manhattanville this junior campaign as she saw more than 27 minutes per game on the floor. She played in all 25 games, starting in 24, and finished as the Valiants' leader in rebounds and free throws with 179 boards and 61 makes at the charity stripe. Ramos finished with 280 points, averaging 11.2 per game, an almost eight point increase from her rate a season ago. The Queens native also set new career-highs with 40 steals, 56 assists and seven blocks as she slid in masterfully into her increased role for the 2024-25 campaign. Ramos eclipsed double digits offensively three times and scored 20 in three games, including a pair of career-high 26-point outings against Farmingdale on Jan. 18 and Mount Saint Vincent on Feb. 5. On Feb. 11, Ramos earned her first-ever recognition from the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association, being named a weekly Honorable Mention for her performance the week prior.
Debrocky also settled into her new role like her classmate to earn her spot on the Skyline Second Team. The junior was one of just two Valiants to start all 25 games this season, playing a team-high 30.6 minutes per contest. Debrocky finished as Manhattanville's leading scorer with 289 total points, averaging 11.6 per game. She was the Valiants' top deep threat as he drilled 52 shots from beyond the arc while being extremely effective at the free throw line with a .913 clip.
