PURCHASE, N.Y. – Senior Ryan McCann (Medford, N.Y./Longwood) of the Manhattanville University baseball team has been named the Skyline Conference's Pitcher of the Week, for the week ending Mar. 8, to become the conference's first recipient of the award for the 2026 season.

McCann was recognized for his complete game effort on the mound on Saturday against Cairn, limiting the Highlanders to one run across his seven innings of work. The senior punched out six and scattered five hits across the outing, issuing just one walk.

The Valiant ace is 2-0 to start the year, also toeing the slab in Manhattanville's season-opening win at Centenary back on Feb. 28 where he pitched five innings and struck out five.

McCann and the Valiants continue the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach through Tuesday and head home for a pair of weekend doubleheaders, first scheduled to host New Jersey City for a pair on Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m.
