PURCHASE, N.Y. – Ryan McCann (Medford, N.Y./Longwood) was named Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year alongside Old Westbury. In addition to the first-team acknowledgment, Jack Moeller (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) and Aidan Tumbleson (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) earned second-team accolades.
McCann earned his second career all-conference team recognition after earning the second team nods in his sophomore season. This is the first postseason award for Tumbleson and Moeller.
The Valiants' ace had a stat-sheet-stuffing season while simultaneously rewriting the record book. Going 9-1, the senior threw 65.1 innings with 53 strikeouts and only allowing six walks while wrapping the season with a 2.76 ERA.
The Medford, N.Y. native adds the Pitcher of the Year award to his already stacked list, including Manhattanville University Male Athlete of the Year, Winningest Pitcher in Program History, Tied for first place in complete games, and atop the list for fewest walks per nine with 1.06.
Despite a season-ending injury, Moeller made the second team in his rookie season. In his 28 appearances, the freshman started in 24 games while racking up 30 hits, 30 runs, and 23 RBI. Of his hits, he tallied 11 doubles, four home runs, and one triple. He finished his first spring with a .390 batting average, a .714 SLG%, and a .573 OB%.
In 35.0 innings, Tumbleson quickly became highlighted as the first out of the bullpen for the Valiants in his senior season. With 17 appearances, the senior finished 5-1 with 18 strikeouts. His 4.63 ERA and 5-1-1 record tabbed him with the second-team pitcher title.
