Cross Country Travels to Compete in SJLI Invitational

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. - The Manhattanville cross country teams hit the course on Saturday to compete at Sunken Meadow Park in the Saint Joseph's Long Island Invitational. This concluded their regular season as the fourth and final meet before heading into the Skyline Conference championships. Three women competed on the woman's side in the 5k, and five on the men's side in the 8k. The men placed fifth out of fourteen teams while the woman did not place due to the limited number of runners competing.  

Jennifer Oliveros (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) was the top finisher for the Valiants, placing 18th out of a field of 98 with a time of 23:57.6. Adelina Rodriguez (Westbury, N.Y./Westbury) finished next in 41st place in 26:43.7. Finishing in 81st place and competing for the first time this season, Gabrielle Billetz (Clarksburg, Mass./Hoosac Valley) clocked a time of 31:32.4. 

Joey DeMilio (White Plains, N.Y./White Plains) shines once again as Manhattanville's top finisher on the men's side. DeMilio crossed the finish line eighth with a time of 29:19.3 in the field of 107. Zach Garrant (Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill High School) finished next in 17th with 30:36.2 on the clock. Darlig Delgado (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore Senior) finished next just a minute later in 27th place with a time of 31:43.1. Roberto Schneiger (New York, N.Y./Urban Academy Lab) crossed the finish line next at 32:22.4 coming in 35th place. Coming just three places behind was teammate Daniel Baldassarre with 32:43.3 in 38th place.

The Valiants have rounded up on their regular season with this meet and look ahead to competing in the Skyline Conference Championships on Sunday November 3.
