KINGS PARK, N.Y. – The Manhattanville College men's and women's cross country teams made their final tune-ups for the upcoming Middle Atlantic Conference Championships at the St. Joseph's (L.I.) College Invitational, held at Sunken Meadow Park on Saturday afternoon.

The men's team sent five runners to the race and took 12th out of 20 teams with 293 points. The women's team did not score with only three runners making the trip onto Long Island.

On the women's side, sophomore Katie DiCola (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) again was the squad's top performer, placing 13th out of 161 competitors by completing the 5K course in 21:32.60.

Freshman Veronika D'Aragona (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) was the next Valiant to cross the finish line, taking 61st place with a time of 24:06.00, and sophomore Lauren Limato (Mount Vernon, N.Y./The Ursuline School) completed the Valiant trio with a 112nd-place finish (26:50.40).

Senior Austin McGlone took sixth place overall out of 156 runners on the day, finishing the five-mile (8.05K) course in 28:33.20. Classmate Matt Goidell was the second Valiant to cross the finish line, placing 37th overall in 31:02.70.

Fellow senior Peter Rizzo finished the course with a time of 32:15.00 to earn 60th place and finish comfortably in the top half of competitors. Freshman J.T. Scapperotti just missed a top-100 finish, earning 102nd place in 34:45.10, while senior Evan Winston rounded out the Valiant quintet in 141st place (40:44.90).

Manhattanville will return to the course on October 31, when the Valiants take part in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on the campus of Misericordia University.
