ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Sophomore Katie DiCola (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson) finished in eighth place overall with one of the fastest times of her career to lead the Manhattanville women's cross country team at the Bard Invitational, hosted by Bard College on Saturday.

The women's team sent only four runners to the event and as a result did not score. The Valiant men took ninth place out of 14 scoring teams at the meet, posting a score of 240.

The women were paced by DiCola, who posted the top Valiant finish of the day in either gender by grabbing eighth place out of 120 runners in the women's 5K. DiCola crossed the line in 20:27.00, the second-best time of her career, and finished just outside of the program's all-time top-10 for the 5K.

Senior Catherine Weiner (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) finished in 28th place on the day for the Valiants, finishing the course in 22:16.00. She was followed by freshman Veronika D'Aragona (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston), whose time of 22:56.00 placed her 43rd overall, and sophomore Lauren Limato (Mount Vernon, N.Y./The Ursuline School), who placed 69th overall with a time of 24:25.00.

Senior Austin McGlone led the men with a time of 27:22.00 that was good enough for a 10th place finish out of 136 competitors and also is the fourth-fastest ever at Manhattanville. Just in his second year at Manhattanville, the senior owns three of those four marks, including his program-record time of 25:27 set at Bard last season.

In addition to McGlone, senior Matt Goidell took 37th place overall by crossing the line in 30:26.00, followed by classmate Peter Rizzo in 65th place with a 32:28.00 finish. Senior Malcolm Winter and freshman J.T. Scapperotti both cracked the top-90 as well, with Winter taking 88th in 34:14.00 to finish just ahead of Scapperotti in 89th place (34:15.00).

The Valiants will take next week off before returning to the course on October 3 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Invitational, held at Branch Brook Park in Newark.
