Manhattanville Athletics Hall of Fame

Bess Graham set a standard of excellence as a goaltender for the Manhattanville field hockey teams from 1981-84, putting up record-setting numbers and helping to establish the program as one of the top teams in New York State.
Â
Graham was the definition of a constant between the pipes for the Manhattanville field hockey team, playing every minute of every game during her four-year career, and as a result ranks third in NCAA Division III history with her 5,810 career minutes played as a goalie. She was the first goalie in NCAA field hockey history (All-Divisions) to record more than 750 saves for a career and currently ranks 21st among Div. III keepers in career saves (760). At Manhattanville, Graham ranks first all-time in minutes and games played as well as shutouts (21), and also sits second in wins (35) and saves, third in goals against average (1.66) and fourth in save percentage (.848).
Â
Graham also spent four years on the Valiant softball team during the spring as well, appearing in 49 games and hitting .350 for 25 runs batted in and 22 runs scored for Manhattanville over her final three seasons.
