Manhattanville Athletics Hall of Fame

Oscar Mena was one of the first stars of the nascent men’s soccer program at Manhattanville in the late 1970s, playing four seasons with the Valiants and serving as team captain in his final two years.
Mena was one of the first true goal scorers from the midfield for Manhattanville under head coaches Arnie Ramirez and Feliks Fuksman, scoring 25 goals with 14 assists for 64 points. His scoring output increased in every season with the team, culminating with a senior season in which he ranked second on the team with 21 points, scoring nine goals with three assists. He currently ranks ninth in school history in goals and 10th in points, and remained in the top-five in both categories 20 years after his graduation.
In his four years with the program, the men’s soccer team posted a combined record of 29-22-9 (.558), including a 9-4-3 mark in 1979 that remained the highest single-season winning percentage (.656) at the school for the next 20 years and still ranks fourth-best in program history.
