Manhattanville University Athletics

Dr. Lawson Bowling has served as one of the most long-standing supporters of Valiant athletics during his tenure of calling Manhattanville home. Bowling held the title of Faculty Athletics Representative with the department for more than two decades, accepting the role in the mid-1990s. In his position, Bowling served as Manhattanville's representative at the NCAA Convention for multiple years, becoming well versed on the bylines and involvement of intercollegiate athletics and how to foster and enhance the experience of the university's student-athletes. After serving on previous Hall of Fame committees to help enshrine the greatest to ever wear the Valiant name on their jersey, Bowling will now fittingly join those that have been inducted before him. Frequently seen at Valiant home games even after his tenure as Faculty Athletics Representative, Bowling's legacy continues to carry on as the Athletic Department renamed its annual scholar-athlete awards as the Dr. Lawson Bowling Manhattanville Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year awards, starting in 2023.
