11351Tedesco is one of the founding fathers of the men’s basketball program at Manhattanville and still remains the longest-tenured coach in the team’s history, having spent 15 years behind the Valiant bench from 1979-94.

Under his direction, the Manhattanville men’s basketball team reached double digits in wins in 13 straight seasons, including a then-program record 17 victories in both the 1985-86 and 1986-87 campaigns. Before the department made the move to the Skyline Conference, Tedesco’s teams made six postseason appearances in the prestigious ECAC Metro Tournament between 1982-92, accounting for nearly half of the ECAC Tournament berths in school history. His high-scoring 1988-89 team averaged a program-record 90.0 points per game, ranking Manhattanville 12th in Division III in scoring offense that season.

Tedesco, who coached nearly 100 different players during his time at the school, remains the men’s basketball program’s all-time leader in wins (194) and games coached (385), while he still ranks fourth all-time in wins and third in games coached among all Manhattanville sports.
